Writing

I have always been a storyteller.

I began writing when I was twelve, long before I had language for many of the experiences and questions I was trying to hold together. Writing remains one of the primary ways I listen, make meaning, and explore the spaces between faith, culture, land, identity, and relationship.

Through Songs of the Between, I share personal & theological reflections, oral stories, poetry, songs, and fiction. Across these different forms, I return to questions of belonging, truth, justice, and what it means to become better relatives.

Walking the Good Road is a space for personal essays and reflections on faith, Indigenous truth and reconciliation, current events, activism, and community development. While some reflections emerge from my work in the Central Okanagan, the blog explores questions that extend beyond a single place: How do we live responsibly, practice repair, and walk together with greater humility and care?

Relatives in Reconciliation

Mapping stories of truth and reconciliation in the Central Okanagan.

Relatives in Reconciliation began in 2025 as a mapping project completed during my Master of Theology with NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community, in partnership with Ministry in the City Hub.

The project was created to listen for and share stories of truth and reconciliation in the Central Okanagan. What programs, relationships, educational opportunities, and community practices are already growing here? Where do people hope to see relationships deepen and develop?

The blog continues to grow and change through the people, places, and stories it encounters. Stories are living, rooted in time and place, and carried through relationship.

Together, these stories form an evolving map of reconciliation work in the region.

If you are involved in ongoing truth and reconciliation work in the Central Okanagan and have a story to share, I would be glad to begin a conversation. Please contact me at mgriffin@redclover.ca.

Unite With Me: Songs and Poetry

Creative work from the spaces between.

Unite With Me gathers original songs and poetry in written, audio, and video formats. These pieces explore faith, identity, land, relationship, grief, hope, and the ongoing work of becoming. New work will be added as it becomes ready to share.
