This workshop includes two required sessions. Participants should plan to attend both sessions and complete a guided reflection between them.
Session 1: Locating Ourselves in Story and Place
Thursday, October 15, 2026 | 6:00–8:00 p.m. Pacific
Location: Zoom
Participants explore the purpose and practice of land acknowledgements, encounter Syilx perspectives on land and community wellbeing, and reflect on the Four Food Chiefs story. The session introduces ways of locating ourselves within the lands, relationships, and stories that have shaped who we are.
Between Sessions: Discovering Your Roots
Participants complete a guided take-home assignment exploring the people, places, cultures, experiences, and stories that have shaped their identity and perspective.
Session 2: Listening Across Our Stories
Thursday, October 22, 2026 | 6:00–8:00 p.m. Pacific
Location: Zoom
Participants gather in a facilitated storytelling circle to share what they discovered about their roots and listen across different experiences. Through story and reflection, the group considers how greater awareness of personal and collective histories can cultivate curiosity, humility, and care in relationship with others.
Cost per individual for both sessions is $75.
